THE RESTORATION OF A VENETIAN ICON

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel is currently closed for restoration for a 15 month period during which this iconic Venetian palazzo is undergoing a meticulous handcrafted restoration. The hotel will re-open at the beginning of 2013 bringing the historical Palace back to its ancient grandeur, while at the same time updating the hotel with state-of-the-art technology.

As the Hotel Gritti Palace is a protected historical asset, the restoration project will celebrate Venetian culture and history using authentic local artisans, products and design elements, such as original Rubelli Venetian textiles and unique furniture pieces custom designed by Donghia and inspired by Venetian Rococo couches and pozzetti.

THE GRAND CANAL EXPERIENCE

Formerly home to the family of Doge Andrea Gritti, our 16^th century palazzo faces the Grand Canal in a peaceful neighbourhood of Venice, a leisurely stroll from Piazza San Marco. Within easy access are the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Punta della Dogana, and La Fenice Opera House. Our stunning Grand Canal location boasts enchanting views that extend from San Giorgio Island to the beautiful church of Santa Maria della Salute, and over to the Accademia.
